Upholstery Leather CareUpholstery leather has many advantages over a wide range of alternative upholstery coverings. Thanks to modern technology and to its lasting durability, leather will last longer than any other fabric. The core element for this longevity is proper care and cleaning; two critical elements for the useful life of our products. We suggest a light and frequent cleaning, since dust may be abrasive, and potentially harmful to leather. An occasional dusting with a clean warm and slightly wet cloth will avoid the accumulation of dust and oil. This simple maintenance is vital to extend the useful life of your leather furniture. When animals are put out to pasture, they are exposed to injuries caused by trees, bushes, and barbed wires that may leave scratches and scars in the leather. These marks are natural and do not affect the strength or durability. They actually guarantee that the product that you have is genuine leather. We also know that in our lands, in order to avoid the removal of animals, they are still marked with fire. This type of scars are inevitably unremovable. Proper Maintenance: Frequently Vaccuming Avoid placing your furniture in direct sunlight. Although most leather is resistant to fading, direct and long exposure to the sun will cause a variation in colors. Keep your furniture away from stoves and heaters and other heat sources. Keep sofas at least 50 cm away. Do not leave newspapers on top of your leather furniture since ink may be absorbed by leather. Avoid hard or excessive rubbing. Allow wet or damp leather to air-dry naturally without using hair dryers or other drying devices. Common Stains are easily removed : Avoid sitting at the back and armrests of your sofa. The severe impact may damage the structure of your furniture. Stains and spills: Wipe excess liquid immediately with a clean cloth or sponge. Do not rub. If needed, use warm water and clean gently. Dry with a clean towel and allow it to air-dry. Stubborn spots and stains: Use a mild soapy solution, not detergent (neutral soap) and warm water in a 1-10 solution. Apply the solution with a clean and damp sponge, and wipe the area, dot or stain. Let the leather air-dry naturally. Butter, oil or grease: Wipe gently with a clean and dry cloth, then leave it alone as the spot will dissipate into the leather in a short period of time. Do not use water or other liquids. Never use: Abrasive or non-abrasive cleanser, soap, furniture polish or oil, varnish, detergent or other cleaning products, alcohol, or ammonia water. Do not use any product containing silicon or similar solvents. This materials may damage the color of the leather. |
